This is one of my all-time favorite hikes so far, not just with an amazing prized blue pool, but because the scenery changes gradually the entire way.
Most hikes are just a bunch of the same trees and bushes up until the epic view or lake or waterfall etc.
I’ve been here 3 times and each time there’s daring jumpers leaping off the high rocks into the beautiful crystal blue pool. It’s freezing, I swam in twice and felt like a city slicker entitled diva both times. It was humiliating, but had the most refreshing after-taste once the initial shock wore off.
From Portland drive South East of Salem 2 and a half hours
Roundtrip, the hike is about an hour and a half
